Globalization: It's a Flat World After All

We hear/read a lot on the news about globilization like it's something recent, but it's been going on since ancient times. Here I've created Christopher Columbus and his three ships circling around a peanut butter cup globe. I carved an outline of the U.S. and North America on the front and a compressed version of the rest of the world on the back. Consumerism is egocentric afterall.
I made the candy out of basswood and turned the base on the lathe. The opened wrapper is made of aluminum. Somewhere i have a jig I created to help me make those accordion folds. It took several recipes to come up with natural-looking peanut butter.
